When Michaela told me about her and Ashley’s ideas for a festival wedding I genuinely didn’t expect the set up to be as amazing as this! Their woodland wedding was held at Hazlewood Castle between York and Leeds, and their wedding was the second ever wedding to be held outdoors in the clearing there - it was the perfect setting for an outdoor festival wedding.

…and then there were four! You may have seen a recent family/maternity shoot I did with Anna, Scott and Isabelle.. but now it’s time to meet Lucy!

Holly and Chris - what a wedding! The most beautiful English country garden marquee wedding.. incredible flowers everywhere, so relaxed, and ending with a fabulous band and serious shapes thrown on the dance floor.. I loved being part of their beautiful marquee wedding, held at Holly’s parents’ house in Gloucestershire, that sunny Summer Saturday. Here are a few favourites..

“Sally was wonderful from the start, put my camera shy husband at ease, and was a joy to have there on the day. The photographs didn’t take up a whole chunk of the day, and apart from the official photographs, She was in the background snapping away. The photographs were beautiful, and the presentation of the box was just lovely. My make up artist said they are the best set of photos she has ever seen. I can’t stop looking at them, and don’t know how I will ever decide which ones to display!”

I was so excited to shoot a wedding at Le Petit Chateau in Northumberland for the first time and it certainly didn’t disappoint.. Beth and Adam’s wedding was so. damn. cool.. and full of personal handmade touches, incredible flowers and neon, and they celebrated in style surrounded by family and friends. They booked me for a stop motion wedding film as well as their photos (which you can see here) and I really loved putting this film together for them.

What. A. Wedding.

Immy and Matt’s wedding was injected with so much fun and so much colour.. I knew theirs would be an amazing day to shoot and it would be an amazing crowd because I shot Immy’s sister Sorrel’s wedding last September which was also brimming with laughter, party people and incredible dance moves.

Their stop motion wedding film can tell the story better than I can.. so here goes!

Nadine and Chris’ wedding really was something else.. there was so, so much to capture and it was an absolute dream to shoot! A real mix of cultures, music and entertainment - from zaffa drummers to samba dancers..

They were lucky enough to have sunshine all day for their Hedsor House wedding, and guests mingled outside playing lawn games, drinking Aperol and taking in the incredible setting for their day.

I loved this shoot so, so much.. Sophie at Nancy Loves Nails (an absolute nail queen who rightly berated me on the state of mine) wanted a shoot to celebrate her hitting 10k on Instagram (by the time we shot this she was closer to 12k.. but OK) and she wanted some images to use for promo stuff and on her social media. From the beginning when we started throwing ideas and colours back and forth I just knew it was going to be ridiculously good.

An absolutely beautiful outdoor wedding celebration for today’s ‘Magic Seven’ - I absolutely loved being part of Jenna and Tom’s Camp Katur tipi wedding in North Yorkshire. They had a personalised woodland ceremony before eating and celebrating in a nearby tipi in the grounds of Camp Katur - a glamping site which meant that guests could stay nearby after the party had finished.

Huge congratulations to Fiona and Scott, who celebrated their wedding at the bea-u-tiful Priory Hall near Ipswich. The sun shone, guests hung out with espresso martinis and fizz, speeches on the lawn, sunshine, a funk band, Fiona’s incredible Temperley wedding dress.. An absolutely amazing wedding all round.

The sun actually came out for my photo session with the Wardle family! It had rained all week, but I was so excited for a window of actual sunshine to work with that Sunday morning with them all in beautiful Preston Park in Eaglescliffe. Becky had booked a family shoot for her Mum’s birthday (a pretty solid gift idea, just saying..) and we spent an hour or so wandering, letting the kids run and play, and stopping along the way to grab a few family portraits too.

“Sally is SO AMAZING! She made me feel so comfortable and was such a calming, lovely person to have around when we were getting ready. She managed to capture so many wonderful spontaneous moments and nailed all the formal shots too. She was brilliant at seeming to be everywhere at the right times and she was so creative and adapted how did things depending on the situation at the time. The photos and the stop motion video summed up the vibe of our day perfectly and we couldn't love them more.”

From the archives today is Cathy and Seb’s beautiful marquee wedding in Stirling in Scotland, held in the grounds at Cathy’s family home. It was personal, covered in beautiful blooms, had both a ceilidh and an amazing wedding band, and when I left at midnight I could tell that this party was going to go on until the sun came up..

I really do love family shoots at home and this is why.. it was so lovely to do some family/bump photos with Anna, Scott and Isabelle with baby number two a week away from their due date. Anna wanted some really relaxed and natural photos at home while they were a family of three and it was a lovely time to capture with them all. Here are a few favourites.. watch this space for another family shoot with baby number two soon!

I love a relaxed wedding so much.. it really brings it all back to what it’s all really about. Laura and Nick had a wonderfully laid back wedding at The Plough Inn in Congleton and celebrated in their barn with family and friends.

One very close to my heart from today’s ‘Magic Seven’ post... From a wonderful few days I spent in Italy for one of my closest friends’ weddings and I was both bridesmaid and photographer all in one (can you spot me in one of these photos?) It’s Louise and Steven’s Arpino wedding in Italy!

Jennie wanted some relaxed and more ‘lifestyle’ portraits for her copywriting business for us on her website, social media and for various other promotional use. She didn’t want anything too corporate or formal, and something that represented her well as well as looking professional enough to represent her business and how she works. We spend some time locally getting some laid-back ‘headshots’ as well as some other images for use on her site and social media pages.

“We had a very small wedding and Sally fit in so well with our intimate wedding. We didn’t want her to leave ever! The photos we received were worth every single penny. Our most prized possessions.”

I think the setting for Laura and Arran’s wedding speaks for itself, really, but here goes!

Laura and Arran married on Loch Tay, up in Scotland. It was an absolutely incredible setting with atmospheric views of the loch and the surrounding hills, and a little rain didn’t stop their celebrations one tiny bit.
