HOW have I never shot at Beamish Hall before Ross and Jo’s day? It was an absolutely beautiful setting, and (apart from one Winter where my daughter and I were snowed in after eating at a nearby pub and having to use their phone) I’d never properly visited this beautiful venue before.

“Sally has done a few of our friends weddings so as soon as our date was booked, she was my first email! On the day, she was fantastic! She fit in so well on the morning with my parents and bridesmaids and put everyone at ease.

I never felt like I was being photographed and that’s exactly what we wanted - I properly cried when we got our preview photos - they couldn’t be more perfect!” 

Something a bit different on the blog today.. some personal travel and family photos from a recent trip I made to Ibiza with my two girls. I had a short break between work in the Easter holidays and this year is set to be my busiest ever during the Summer months.. I really wanted to have some quality time with my girls before wedding season really kicked off. Here’s how Ibiza looked for us..

From the archives today is Kerrie and Russel’s stop motion wedding film from their beautiful outdoor wedding at Dedham Vale Vineyard in Essex. These two chose the al fresco venue for its proximity to their home, a blank canvas ready to make personal and fill with their own special touches, and most importantly, meant that their beloved dog could join them for the festivities too..

Another ‘Magic Seven’ wedding from the archives today.. and today it’s all about Naomi and Daniel. Imagine marrying the love of your life, in the evening as thunder rumbles in the distance surrounded by your loved ones.. beacuse this is exactly what Daniel and Naomi did on Friday 13th June 2014 in Marrakech, Morocco.. The rain didn’t stop their incredible celebration (it may have delayed the ceremony a little..) and this was a wedding to remember..

What. A. Wedding. Immy and Matt’s wedding was injected with so much fun and so much colour.. I knew theirs would be an amazing day to shoot and it would be an amazing crowd because I shot Immy’s sister Sorrel’s wedding last September which was also brimming with laughter, party people and incredible dance moves.

Step this way for the most amazing Easter wedding inspiration! Amy and Phil held their sunny Spring wedding at Laskill House in North Yorkshire - a stunning venue set amongst the beautiful North Yorkshire hills. The weather was ridiculously good, and these two with their guests sat in the sunshine enjoying fizz and celebrating together whilst the kids played games and blew bubbles on the lawn…

Something a bit different today! It was so good to head up to JN Rusticus’ headquarters and take some commercial product shots and styled shots for their website and social media - I absolutely loved their pieces (right up my street!) and it was really fun to shoot something a bit different to what I usually do. Here are a few favourites from their commercial photography shoot from last week..

I absolutely love Newcastle as a city and the quayside is so beautiful to shoot.. I was over the moon to be back at the Baltic for Tara and Anthony’s wedding - it’s such an interesting space to work with for photos and up on the 6th floor, where the meal and drinks were held, there are the most incredible views across the River Tyne up to the Sage and beyond…

Family photography at home is one of my favourite settings for pictures.. there’s such beauty in the everyday and I love capturing these ‘normal’ but special moments in time. I spent some time this morning with Emma, Brent and Nieve at their home for some relaxed family photographs.

“Truly just felt as though Sally was a friend as a guest. She took everything we wanted on board and made us feel totally at ease. We are so socially awkward and she respected that and still got some amazing shots of us (if I do say so myself!!)”

I really loved being part of Amy and Steven’s intimate wedding at Preston Park Museum and Grounds - they had only immediate family there to celebrate with them and they later announced to the rest of the world that they’d married on the way to their honeymoon that evening! I really love being part of days where couples have done everything completely their own way and created a day that’s perfect for them, and that’s exactly what Amy and Steven’s day was.

Well, this wedding was a day to remember.. Caitlin and Josh have booked me for their Yorkshire Wedding Barn wedding next May, but due to family circumstances they decided to do the legal bit and have an intimate celebration this year too. Their wedding was full of joy, community, family.. and it really goes to show what weddings are really about - people and love. It was also so, so heartwarming and incredible to see so many of those close to them pulling this day together in around a week.

A beautiful Spring wedding at East Riddlesden Hall for you all today.. I hadn’t visited this beautiful National Trust venue before, and I was so excited to see it and shoot there for Jonathan and Suzanne’s barn wedding on Sunday.

From today’s dusty wedding archives is Lucy and Andrew’s absolutely beautiful Lake District wedding at Underlay Grange (a venue at which the co-ordinator ‘could neither confirm no deny’ that Prince William celebrated his stag do, incidentally). I loved their wedding so much so that it became one of my sample albums - you may have spotted these two if we’ve met about your wedding plans or come along to a wedding fair that I’m showing at!

I say it every time I’m there.. but I do love shooting in Liverpool. What a city.

It was just the perfect day - completely relaxed, fun, full of side glances, kisses and squeezes with each other, so much laughter, and a big knees up at the end. It was an absolute dream to shoot.

I recently had the pleasure of spending an hour or so with the Riley family. As soon as I got the the door Toby shouted “Sally’s here!” and went on to show me around their home while we took some relaxed family photos, together with his Mum, Dad and baby sister Violet. It was a lovely sunny day and just about warm enough to get outside for a few photos too.

“Sally’s work is just amazing. All our friends and family love the pictures and stop motion of our wedding, they are beautiful and really captured the feel of the day. She has such an attention to detail, from capturing things like the table settings down to how she packages the photos once ready. She put us at ease and helped so much on the day. She listened to what we wanted (didn’t want lots of cheesy big group shots) but captured lots of ‘action’ shots of the guests mingling.”
