JENNIFER + PAUL - YARM // WEDDING
Oh my goodness.. actually coming out of what felt like hibernation and shooting an actual wedding felt like such a dream. Jennifer and Paul married in Yarm with only immediate family before heading down the beautiful cobbled streets to nearby Italian deli Borellis for a toast outside in the sunshine. It was intimate, relaxed, full of love and laughter, and just the most special small wedding day.
CYPRUS - TWO COLOURS // PERSONAL TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY
Travelling anywhere almost feels a bit bizarre at the moment, doesn’t it? I had trips planned for April and May this year, both now cancelled, and I’m not even browsing SkyScanner in the bath any more.. I have the itch but there’s not much I can do about it..
EDDIE + TINA - WORSALL VILLAGE HALL, NORTH YORKSHIRE// THE MAGIC SEVEN
Eddie and Tina married 2 years ago last month (they’ve since brought beautiful Vincent William into the world - the most beautiful blue-eyed boy..) They giggled and smiled all the way through their vows, said I do, came out of the church to be covered in confetti, escaped to their transport under umbrellas during an April shower, hugged, kissed and loved everyone who came to celebrate them and then partied HARD into the night.
ASHLEY + RICHARD - THE ENGINE SHED, WETHERBY // TESTIMONIAL
“Having seen Sally’s portfolio I knew we would love her photos but I’m still blown away by just how much we love ours. The colour, the style, what she has managed to capture - all of it is perfect. She managed to get both of us (who don’t really like having our picture taken) to look so happy and comfortable…..
ASHLEIGH + RICHARD - FIG HOUSE AT MIDDLETON LODGE WEDDING, NORTH YORKSHIRE // STOP MOTION WEDDING FILM
So! I thought today would be a good day to share something that feels a little more normal before the world turned upside down and we went into lockdown.. Ashleigh and Richard’s day at the Fig House at Middleton Lodge was the last wedding that I shot in February before everything changed.. I didn't know it'd be my last wedding for a while and now I can’t help but think back to such a gorgeous day with everyone hugging and kissing and loving freely like we all hope to again soon.
JN RUSTICUS // COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY TEESSIDE
Every time I work with JN Rusticus shooting a new collection I come away wanting to redesign my entire house.. their pieces are so beautifully made and they are constantly designing and creating new pieces too. Here are a few favourites from a short shoot I did with them earlier this month..
CHARLIE + OLLIE - THE ABBEY GARDENS, MALMSEBURY | TESTIMONIAL
You have done such a great job (we knew you would) and captured the day perfectly. The attention to detail and thought that went into the photos is amazing. Also, being a couple that don't much like having their photo taken, we barely noticed you there on the day and you were great at putting us at ease and keeping it informal with the couple shots which have also surpassed our expectations!
KATE + JOE - ORMESBY HALL WEDDING, TEESSIDE // THE MAGIC SEVEN
Another ‘Magic Seven’ post for you this fine Sunday! For these posts I select seven favourite images that I feel tell the story of a wedding or are snippets of the day that I just loved.. and this time it’s Kate and Joe’s fabulous and colourful Ormesby Hall wedding in Teesside.
2010 - 2020 // MY PORTFOLIO THROUGH THE YEARS
With the start of a new decade I thought it could be fun to dig back through old archives and do a ten year post! Strictly speaking, I shot my first wedding in 2011 not 2010, but I registered my business at the end of 2010 so I guess it sort of counts?
BETH + ADAM- LE PETIT CHATEAU, NORTHUMBERLAND // TESTIMONIAL
“I found Sally through a friend. Years ago I saw her stop motion video and it brought me to tears it was that beautiful! I said from that moment when I get married we’re having her, and we did! Thank you Sally for being fabulous!”
ASHLEIGH + RICHARD - THE FIG HOUSE, NORTH YORKSHIRE // WEDDING
It was so good to be back at the beautiful Fig House on the Middleton Lodge estate in North Yorkshire for Ashleigh and Richard’s wedding. These two were joined by their wonderful girl Evangeline, who was a real whirlwind of fun all day and the fact that this day was about the three of them as a family really added something extra-special to the day.
BARN WEDDING VENUES IN THE NORTH WITH 'WOW' FACTOR // WEDDING INSPIRATION
For 2020 I thought I would start a new mini series of ‘inspiration’ blog posts. I see such beautiful ideas come to life at weddings and I really felt it was a shame not to showcase some of them, support and show off some local venues and suppliers and to get some extra wedding inspiration out into the world!
HAYLEY + BEN - ASYLUM WEDDING, LONDON // TESTIMONIAL
“When it comes to saying ‘Thank You’, it’s really hard to know where to start! You really have captured the magic of the day. They are absolutely beautiful and memories we will treasure forever!
It was a real pleasure having you as part of our day and we can’t imagine you not being there. You made everything so easy and nothing was ever a bother - everyone loved you!
You are so talented and anyone who has you as part of their day is very lucky indeed! We are super grateful for everything and we hope we get to see you again in the future!”
HANNAH + DAN - THE TALBOT, MALTBY // TESTIMONIAL + STOP MOTION FILM
It gives me great pleasure to finally share Hannah and Dan’s stop motion film from their fabulous wedding at The Talbot/York House in North Yorkshire last October. What a wedding..
“Dan and I sat down last night and watched through the video and pictures - wow! Just WOW! We were absolutely blown away by them! You’ve totally captured every moment of the day. You were absolutely amazing on the day and really put us both at ease! Thank you so, so much!”
ASHLEY + RICHARD - THE ENGINE SHED, WETHERBY // YORK + LEEDS WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Ashley and Richard - what a fab start to 2020!
These two were a pleasure to hang out with all day for their relaxed Engine Shed wedding in Wetherby - it was all right up my street! I hadn’t shot at the Engine Shed before - it’s a fab old industrial venue in Wetherby and I loved the look of the place. Ashley and Richard told me it just felt very ‘them’ more than some of the ‘grander’ wedding venues out there, and they’d had styled it up beautiful (I especially loved the neon!) and we managed to grab a few shots in the February sunshine as well before heading in for food and speeches.
Anyway! Here are some favourite shots from the day while I work through the rest - ‘til death do us party!
ED + SORRELL - TIPI WEDDING AT BENTLEY WILDFOWL + MOTOR MUSEUM // THE MAGIC SEVEN
For my first ‘Magic Seven’ of 2020 I thought I would pick seven favourites from a wedding that got an amazing response back in 2017 - *drumroll*… it’s Ed and Sorrel!
Their wedding was originally featured in OK! Magazine which felt all kinds of exciting, and went on to be featured more fully on the Rock My Wedding Blog.
KATIE + DAN - NORTH YORKSHIRE MARQUEE WEDDING // STOP MOTION WEDDING FILM
Katie and Dan held an absolutely FABULOUS marquee wedding up in the North Yorkshire hills at Ingleby Greenhow. There was stunning styling, the last of the Summer sun, dancing, joy and the cocktails flowed. An absolute dream. It’s time to share their stop motion wedding film..
JESS + TOM - STANCLIFFE HALL, DERBYSHIRE WEDDING // TESTIMONIAL
“Not only are the photos perfect, but it was a real pleasure having you play a part in our special day. We’re not the type who particularly like being in front of the camera but you made us feel completely at ease. We are so glad we chose you!”
KATIE + ALEX - HOLYWELL HALL/CASTLE VIEW FARM + STABLES // STOP MOTION WEDDING FILM
The sun really shone for these two.. it was one of those truly beautiful September days, the light was gorgeous, it felt like one of the last days of Summer, and everything felt so easy - just perfect. It’s finally time to share their stop motion film on the blog.. enjoy!
2019 - MAGIC + LOVE // WEDDING HIGHLIGHTS
It’s time for my 2019 highlights! Every year I dig back through folders and hard drives and pick out some favourites from the year and do a bit of a ‘review’.. this year was my busiest *ever* and it took a while to narrow it down to this set but here you go! Big love and happy 2020 you lot!
