Well, where do I even begin? Chris and Simone had the most beautiful city centre November wedding in Gateshead and Newcastle and I had the pleasure of being their photographer for the day. Simone and Chris both have a background in Art, and they pulled together artists and friends to help create their vision for the day, from the table decor to Simone's hand-painted leather jacket. They had seasonal Autumnal styling, Simone wore the most amazing beaded dress, and the whole day was so fun and relaxed.

For my Magic Seven post today I'm looking all the way back to one of my favourite ever shoots with What Katy Did Next for her collection Reign. We shot at Mayfield Studio in Newcastle with an amazing team (credits at the bottom). I loved this collection of bridal headwear so much.. together with Katy's amazing styling it was a joy to photograph.

You're going to love this Middleton Lodge, North Yorkshire wedding.. Emma and Scott tied the knot at beautiful venue, Middleton Lodge, before celebrating with champagne in hand into the night in their marquee, which had been decorated to perfection with vintage 20s styling; all in navy and gold.

Mark and Mark had a beautiful Newton Hall wedding in Northumberland on a bright Wintery February day. Their styling was eclectic, personal, a little quirky and suited the amazing details in Newton Hall perfectly.

I've decided to transform my blog this year and put a little bit more consideration into how I'm posting out into the world through it; I'd say it's a 'New Year's Resolution' but it just feels that declaring that adds more pressure than I'd like..

Behind The Curtain is going to be a new series of blog posts to showcase personal work, talk a little about what's been going on in my everyday life, and what work-related projects I'm working on and what's coming up. You may be aware, or not, that I keep a family blog too called Our Little Gang - so this is going to tie in with that blog and its posts too..

2017 was another busy, exciting and special year for so many reasons.. My work has taken me all over the UK and abroad, I've met and worked with truly wonderful couples, laughed and cried through speeches and unscripted moments, tried to push myself creatively more than ever, charged and packed my kit, shot, then charged and packed again (ad infinitum), and really tried to push and bring myself and my own approach to my work more than ever before..

Joanna and Neil's day was my first New Year's Eve wedding - and what a wedding it was..

They had a cool Great Gatsby-inspired celebration at private club On The 7th at Salford Quays. I loved their media city wedding because the elegance of their styling met the slightly industrial look of the venue which was all contrasted again by the fabulous and modern Media City backdrop.

Oh Rachel and Nick's White Hart Inn wedding in Derby was just amazing. These two are both barbershop singers, as were a lot of their guests, and had a musical and wonderful wedding day. They both sang in their barbershop groups, there was karaoke on the night, Rachel's hair was just *amazing*, and these two laughed with each other all day.

Oh I love an intimate wedding! Alex and Andy married then celebrated with only their closest family for a perfect small Winter wedding in Country Durham. They hired a farm house in Wolsingham for a few nights, everyone came and stayed, they hired a caterer, champagne was flowing, the sun set, the sparklers came out and as their evening celebrations began so did the cocktail making. It was so relaxed - everyone was just hanging out and celebrating together in the best way. Here are their previews - a beautifully small Winter wedding.

I was so excited when Nicole and Paul got in touch asking if I could squeeze them in for a family shoot - I shot their Middleton Lodge wedding back in 2013, and I was so excited to meet their new little person Monty! They wanted some relaxed family photography at home which is exactly how I like to work. Monty was happy in his own home surrounded by his favourite toys and we had a natter and a play whilst getting some relaxed family photographs of this beautiful family. Oh Simone and Chris' wedding was *right up my street*. Chilled out, city centre, taxidermy and such a gorgeous couple to work with. Just *look* at Simone's dress too.. These two said their "I dos" at the Civic Centre before celebrating at St Mary's Heritage Centre near the riverside. A perfect day. Here are some previews..

I jumped at the chance to go and visit Tea With Alice - it's newly opened in Darlington by one of my couples from a few years ago, Mary and Mark. They've since had a little girl, Alice (hence the name!) and opened up this fabulous place! The brunchy-breakfasts were to die for.. right up my street. I'll definitely be heading back up here. Here are a few previews (and little video) of a delicious morning spent at Tea With Alice. Lovely stuff.

It was fabulous to be back at The Star Inn at Harome and spend the day with these two.. Harri and Charlie are absolutely head-over-heels for each other and spent the whole day telling the other just how much they adored them. It was full of beautiful botanical details, dozens of paper lanterns, and a rainbow turned up at exactly the right moment, in exactly the right place that we could use it for a few couple portraits too. A perfect day. Here are a few preview pictures..

Oh Bhodi! What a beautiful little person. I joined Bhodi, Aime and Colin at their home in Hartlepool to capture the three of them together...

Can we stop and just gaze for a sec at these two beautiful people..! Haleema and Sam tied the knot last Thursday after being together since they age of 14 (*that's* commitment..). They celebrated at Whinstone View and had beautiful handmade and travel-inspired touches decorating the barn.. an absolutely beautiful day. Here are their previews..

I do *love* a Lake District wedding, and Fiona and Ashley's day was just perfect. The had full run of beautiful Morland Hall, and dozens of friends and family stayed for a few days to celebrate with them in the days before and after the wedding too. The sun shone, they both looked amazing and the whole day was a mix of emotions, joy and love. Here are their previews..
