2023 // ALL THE GOOD STUFF

So, that was 2023!

And just like that, another year has flown by! It’s been an absolute joy to be part of each one of these days this year; it really does fill up my heart to be witness to so much of the good stuff in life and be part of so much celebration. Obviously there are so many elements that come together to make ‘a wedding’, but the best part is always the people there; that feeling of everyone getting together, dressed up, ready to let their hair down and celebrate you is where the real magic lies.

BIG LOVE to all my 2023 couples and thank you for inviting me to be part of your days. I love how much of yourselves went into your planning and choices, how some of you embraced every element of ‘the big day’ and some let go of traditions that didn’t fit your vision - I’m forever a fan of couples having the freedom to make their wedding feel exactly right for them, however that looks. Big love too to all the other amazing wedding suppliers I’ve been lucky enough to work alongside this year too (and hope you all enjoy a bit of downtime at the end of the season!)

This year marked ten years since I went full time with wedding photography and I still feel so incredibly lucky to be doing something that still excites me so much, feels creatively stimulating, and that I still find so fun and so fulfilling. I’m grateful for those couples who had faith in my work when I started almost 14 years ago and I’m equally grateful for the couples now who are also entrusting me with documenting their day in hope of remembering every details for the decades to come. As much as shooting feels so instinctive now, this year was the same as all others in that I always still try to challenge myself, stay open to inspiration, always asking myself whether I can capture a scene in a different way, checking I’ve covered the tiny details and storytelling elements as well as ‘the first kiss’/’the cake’/’the dancing’.
