Rebecca and Rob of Paylor Photography got in touch and said they were looking for some photographs of the two of them to use for their photography business and also hopefully a few they could frame at home too. I met up with them bright an early one crisp Wintery Sunday on Redcar seafront to capture these two together. I have such a soft spot for a seaside town with the beach, arcades, ice cream shops.. Redcar had some fab opportunities for photos and it was a pleasure spending an hour or so searching them out with Rob and Rebecca.
Read MoreAs much as I love shooting people and weddings, I do love a bit of commercial photography too. It was fab to be back at JN Rusticus HQ to shoot their new pieces. Every time I visit I come away wanting to redcorate my house and this time was no different.. I adore their new textiles that they’ve added too. Here are a few favourite shots from their latest shoot.
Read MoreI loved this shoot so, so much.. Sophie at Nancy Loves Nails (an absolute nail queen who rightly berated me on the state of mine) wanted a shoot to celebrate her hitting 10k on Instagram (by the time we shot this she was closer to 12k.. but OK) and she wanted some images to use for promo stuff and on her social media. From the beginning when we started throwing ideas and colours back and forth I just knew it was going to be ridiculously good.

She didn’t want anything too corporate or formal, and something that represented her well as well as looking professional enough to represent her business and how she works. We spend some time locally getting some laid-back ‘headshots’ as well as some other images for use on her site and social media pages.

It was so good to head up to JN Rusticus’ headquarters and take some commercial product shots and styled shots for their website and social media - I absolutely loved their pieces (right up my street!) and it was really fun to shoot something a bit different to what I usually do. Here are a few favourites from their commercial photography shoot from last week..
Read MoreDid you know I do commercial photography too? So much of the work I put out there is so wedding and lifestyle heavy that maybe it's not that obvious that I've loved working on different commercial projects in the past.
Read MoreFor my Magic Seven post today I'm looking all the way back to one of my favourite ever shoots with What Katy Did Next for her collection Reign. We shot at Mayfield Studio in Newcastle with an amazing team (credits at the bottom). I loved this collection of bridal headwear so much.. together with Katy's amazing styling it was a joy to photograph.
Read MoreI've decided to transform my blog this year and put a little bit more consideration into how I'm posting out into the world through it; I'd say it's a 'New Year's Resolution' but it just feels that declaring that adds more pressure than I'd like..
Behind The Curtain is going to be a new series of blog posts to showcase personal work, talk a little about what's been going on in my everyday life, and what work-related projects I'm working on and what's coming up. You may be aware, or not, that I keep a family blog too called Our Little Gang - so this is going to tie in with that blog and its posts too..
Read MoreI jumped at the chance to go and visit Tea With Alice - it's newly opened in Darlington by one of my couples from a few years ago, Mary and Mark. They've since had a little girl, Alice (hence the name!) and opened up this fabulous place! The brunchy-breakfasts were to die for.. right up my street. I'll definitely be heading back up here. Here are a few previews (and little video) of a delicious morning spent at Tea With Alice. Lovely stuff.
