25. COMPETITION
If I had any advice to give out about anyone worrying about 'competition'.. I would say to let it go. Yes, there's competition out there, but no-one out there is doing exactly what you do. There are thousands of photographers out there, some will go on GroupOn and charge £300 to cover a full wedding, some charge £10,000 or more just to show up. There is huge variety, no two photographers are the same, and there are thousands of people getting married out there every month of every year. Instead of worrying that a local photographer charging £200 less than you could be attracting your clients, understand that they were possibly never your client in the first place. There's every chance you shoot very differently, that you attract different people, that your ideal client looks very, very different. Focus on what makes your work unique and invest your energy on your own business rather than negatively worrying what everyone else is doing. Some of the most memorable photographers and videographers out there don't ever look at other people's wedding work.. So if I had any advice, it would be 'you do you'.
